Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 15, 2026
Bibbly ("we," "us") helps parents with baby names, baby wardrobe curation, and personalized children's books. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Email address - when you sign up, join the waitlist, or log in via magic link.
- Name comparison votes - which names you prefer in pairwise comparisons. This is core product data.
- Wardrobe votes - which clothing items you prefer. Used to learn your style preferences.
- Couple session data - if you use couple mode, we link two accounts to compute joint rankings.
- Character and universe data - descriptions, settings, and creative input you provide when building characters and stories.
- Generated content - AI-generated illustrations and story text created through the service.
- Affiliate clicks - when you click through to partner stores via the Wardrobe feature.
We do not collect your real name, phone number, due date, or any health information.
Analytics
We use PostHog for product analytics. PostHog captures page views, feature usage, and session data to help us improve the product. Session recordings may be enabled. PostHog data is hosted in the US and governed by their privacy policy. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising-related trackers.
How we use your data
- Email: To send login links, book completion notifications, sharing invites, and (if opted in) marketing communications.
- Votes: To compute your preference model and generate recommendations. Your votes are private to you (and your partner in couple mode).
- Character data: To generate illustrations and stories. Your characters and universes are private unless you explicitly share them.
- Affiliate clicks: To track commission attribution with partner stores. Not used for advertising profiles.
What we do NOT do
No ads. No data sales. No cross-site tracking. Your creative content and personal data stay out of AI training sets - the only model that uses your data is your own preference model, and it only serves you.
AI-generated content
When you create characters and books, we send your descriptions to AI image and text generation services (currently Google Gemini and OpenAI) to produce illustrations and stories. These services process your input to generate content but do not retain it for training purposes per our agreements with them. The generated content is stored in Amazon S3 and linked to your account.
Where your data lives
Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database on AWS (US East region), encrypted at rest. Generated images are stored in Amazon S3. Email is sent via Amazon SES.
Data retention
- Account data: Kept as long as your account exists.
- Generated content: Kept as long as your account exists. Deleted with your account.
- Waitlist emails: Kept until you create an account or request deletion.
- Magic link tokens: Expire after 15 minutes and are not reusable.
- Affiliate click data: Retained for 90 days for commission reconciliation, then anonymized.
Your rights
You can request deletion of all your data at any time by emailing privacy@bibbly.ai. We will delete your account, votes, characters, generated content, and preference data within 7 days.
If you're on the waitlist only, you can unsubscribe via the link in any email we send, or email us directly.
Cookies
Bibbly uses a single authentication token stored in your browser's localStorage. PostHog may set a first-party cookie for analytics. We do not use cookies for advertising.
Children
Bibbly is for parents and family members creating content for children. The service itself is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from minors. All accounts must be held by adults.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll notify you by email before the changes take effect.
